READING – Lesson 5 is a review lesson. Our essential question is ” How do tools help us do things with our hands?” We will answer the question by reading, The Little Red Hen, The Handiest Things in the World, and Stone Soup. Our review will include the high frequency words, and, like, the, and I, beginning sounds “m” and “s”, identifying rhyming words, and synonyms. A sheet will be sent home as to how you can help your child review for our first ReadingTest, which will be given next Tuesday, 11/21.
MATH – Our next chapter, Chapter 3 will focus on representing, counting and writing numbers 6 – 9. Continue to reinforce the terms,same as/equal, greater/more, and fewer/less.
SOCIAL STUDIES – Pilgrims and Native Americans will be the topic of our discussions and activities.
RELIGION – The bible story of the Ten Lepers will be discussed in relation to giving thanks to God.
HANDWRITING – A review of the lines used when writing letters will be practiced.
