READING- Unit 3, Lesson 11, begins with the essential question, “How does the weather change in different months and seasons?” We will answer the question by reading and discussing the stories, Every Season, Jump Into January, and Holidays All Year Long. In addition, the students will be blending sounds using short “a” to read words, learning to read our high frequency words, “come” and “me,” practice reading with fluency and expression using the stories , Come and See Me and Pam and Me, from their Readers, and learn to identify the part of a sentence called the “subject.”

MATH- Chapter 5 has its focus on addition. Students will learn to combine sets to discover “how many all together.” They will also learn to read and write an addition sentence.

RELIGION- We will be engaged in specific activities that will involve the class in celebrating Lutheran Schools Week. Some of these activities are, coloring hearts to hang in the cafeteria, writing and drawing a picture for a church member who is a shut-in, and creating a class gratitude list.

SCIENCE- We will become further emersed in learning about seasons and weather.
