Trinity Lutheran School has a full day Kindergarten Program for our youngest students. The curriculum balances academic emphasis on reading, writing and math with work/play times for hands-on learning. Students attend specials in computer art, music, library, and physical education. Students also receive daily Christian instruction. The entire student body attends chapel services each week. Kindergarteners take field trips throughout the year, including a trip to the farm and the dentist. A unique aspect of our Kindergarten Program is what is fondly referred to as “fifth grade friends.” Each kindergartener is paired with a fifth grader for the duration of the year. The children attend chapel together each week, as well as share stories, holidays, and other special events. It gives the kindergarten child the opportunity to build a nurturing relationship with an older student. In addition, kindergarteners are paired with “bus buddies,” to make navigating their firstexperience a little less frightening. Kindergarteners can take part in scouts and choir, as well as other age appropriate activities that may be offered each year. Trinity also offers an extended care program (PLUS) until 6pm. PLUS provides homework supervision, snack, and a recreation period.
