Spelling- The words for this week are: mix, mixed, hop, hopped, hope, hoping, run, running, use, used, above, even, teacher, surprised, above, even, surprised, teacher. There will be a spelling test on this week’s words on Friday. Sentences are due by Thursday.
Phonics -ed and -ing endings; long e spelling patterns- y,ie
The children will learn when to double the consonant in a word to add -ed or –ing, and also when to drop the “e” at the end of a word to add -ed or -ing.
Language Arts– exclamations
Reading: We will read the story The Dot this week. The children should read it again at home. The Reading tests will be given on Friday.
Math– Test on chapter 11 will be given on Monday.
Social Studies– Test on book 4 on Tuesday
Science– Solar System
Weekly Reader- American symbols
