Spelling- We will have a test this Tuesday on list 20. The new words for lesson 21 are: far, arm, yard, art, jar, bar, barn, bark, card, yarn, night, few, story, world. The children will write their spelling words 3x each for homework by Thursday. They should write sentences by Friday. Use at least 5 words in each sentence. The children also know that they can only begin 1 sentence with the word “I”. Spelling Test for list 21 will be next Tuesday.
Phonics- r-controlled vowels ar, or, ore; phonograms -ar,
-ore
Language Arts- subject pronouns
Reading: We will have a test this Tuesday on lesson 20, Little Rabbit’s Tale. We will read the story, Frog and Toad Together- The Garden this week. The “R” book words are few, window, shall, night, noise, world, loudly, story. Reading tests will be given next Tuesday for lesson 21.
Math- Chapter 9- measurement
Science- Chapter 5- Food Chains: How do living things get food in a rain forest and marsh? Review for the test (next Wednesday, 3/29). Study sheets will be sent home this week.
Social Studies- People keep America Free
Weekly Reader- Is a cloud living?

Please remember to check your child’s homework every evening, making sure it is completed and done correctly, then sign or initial each page, (including the “S” book)! Encourage your child to complete all work in their neatest handwriting. The children have been getting creative with their sentence writing and so many children are writing great stories! The spelling sentences (or story) must be completed by Friday.
Pizza envelopes should be handed in by Thursday.
