Mrs. Flomer’s School Notes for the week of June 12th.

It’s almost over! It is hard to believe that these are our last days of school. The school year went by so fast! There will be a few more tests this week as we wrap up the year, but no more written homework.

Monday and Tuesday: Benchmark tests- there is no preparation for these tests, they are given to see what concepts the children grasped this year.

Wednesday- Social Studies test on book 5- books were sent home last week.

All hardcover books must be returned to your school district, unless you are a Hicksville resident. I will send them home this week, a few at a time. The consumable workbooks are yours to keep! If you are a Hicksville resident, please make sure that you do not have any hardcover books at home.   They need to be returned to school.

Please send in a sturdy shopping bag with your child this week, as we will be emptying out our desks and I don’t want to make the schoolbags too heavy!

Friday (6/16) is our last day, and dismissal will be at 12 noon!

I would like to thank you for sharing your precious children with me this year. I have enjoyed this class so much, and all the unique personalities!   It has been such a successful year, and the children have achieved so much. I hope that they enjoyed their first grade experience as much as I enjoyed teaching and loving them! I wish them all the best next year in second grade.

Please encourage your child to read daily over the summer. It is so important to continue to strengthen their skills to help them be successful in Second Grade! I will be sending home a Summer Review Packet for the children to practice the concepts learned this year. I am so proud of this class, and how far they have come, especially with their reading and writing skills!

A special thank you to our class moms for their help this year… Ms. McGill and Ms. McNair!

Have a safe, fun summer!

Blessings,

Mrs. Flomer
