Congratulations to Laila! She is representing grades 3-5 as a Champion of Character for respect. She is a great role model for us all. Woohoo, Laila!

Please make sure you send in the $10 for our class parties.

Scholastic book order forms went home today. They are due by Tuesday, October 17th. You can always order books online by going to Scholastic.com/readingclub  and using our classroom code GZBYH.

On Wednesday we are having our Religion Memory test on the books of the Bible. It will cover Job – Daniel… Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, and Daniel.

In Science, we are finishing up identifying problems.

In ELA, we are reading and discussing Roberto Clemente. In grammar, we are working on writing plural nouns correctly.   Our spelling words are slight, mild, sight, pie, mind, tie, pilot, might, lie, tight, blind, fight, die, midnight, find, night, silent, and frightening. We are having  grammar and spelling tests on Friday.

We finished reading Judy Moody was in a Mood by Megan McDonald. The children really enjoyed the book and wanted to create their own “Me Collages”. Papers went home on Tuesday, and they are due back on Thursday, October 19th.

In Math, we are spending this week review some old concepts and enriching our understanding. Please note that from now on there will be an extra worksheet going home with math everyday. This week we will only have two worksheets each night; I will not be sending home the workbook this week.

In Social Studies, we are learning about the different hemispheres and the prime meridian.
